Getting to the conference venues

Delft is centrally located in the Netherlands and easily accessible by train, car, and public transport. All conference locations are within walking distance of Delft Central Station and the historic city centre.

By train (recommended)

We strongly recommend travelling by train. Delft has direct and frequent connections to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht.

From Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), direct intercity trains run to Delft every 10–15 minutes. Travel time is approximately 45–55 minutes.

From Delft Central Station:

  • Royal HaskoningDHV – ~15 minutes on foot
  • TU Delft Aula – ~10–15 minutes on foot
  • Nieuwe Kerk (Gala Dinner) – ~10 minutes on foot

Tickets can be purchased online, at station ticket machines, or via the NS (Dutch Railways) app.

By car

Delft is accessible via the A4 and A13 motorways. Parking is available near TU Delft campus and in designated areas around the city. Please note that parking in Delft is paid and spaces in the historic centre are limited. Public transport is recommended whenever possible.

Local transport

Delft is compact and easy to navigate on foot. Local buses connect the station and TU Delft campus. Bicycle rental is available at the station, and cycling is a convenient way to travel between venues.

Gala dinner

Location: Nieuwe Kerk Delft, Markt 80, 2611 GW Delft

The Gala Dinner will be hosted in the historic Nieuwe Kerk — a landmark Gothic church in the heart of Delft’s historic Markt square. This elegant venue provides a memorable setting for dinner and networking.

Getting there

From the main conference venues, the Nieuwe Kerk is just a short walk:

  • From Royal HaskoningDHV: ~20 minutes on foot / ~6 minutes by bike
  • From TU Delft Aula: ~10 minutes on foot / ~4 minutes by bike

Public transport, taxis, and app-based ride services are also easily available from both locations.

International travel & arrival

Delft is well connected internationally. The nearest international airport is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), one of Europe’s major hubs with direct flights to/from destinations worldwide.

From Schiphol to Delft

  • Train: Frequent direct trains to Delft Central Station (≈ 45–55 minutes). Trains depart every 10–15 minutes.
  • Taxi / ride service: ≈ 40–50 minutes, depending on traffic.
Alternative airports
  • Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM) – closer to Delft but with a smaller selection of flights.
  • Eindhoven Airport (EIN) – often served by low-cost carriers, with onward train connections via Eindhoven Centraal.

The Dutch rail network is fast, reliable, and international-friendly. Delft Central Station is served by direct intercity trains from major cities including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht.
